DESCRIPTION:

The bradley is the answer to the russian BMP-1 and BMP-2 IFV's. the design is a concoction of several developmental twists and turns over a 20 year period. it was originally devised to be a replacement for the M113 APC.(1968)

BRIEF HISTORY:

the development history of the bradley is a 20 year longwinded path of
development hell.
there was a comedy movie written on the development of the bradley,
called, "the pentagon wars"

DESIGN:

weight 29.937kg combat
weapons: 25mm bushmaster autocannon, TOW2 missiles, 7.62mm M240C
crew: 10(gunner, commander, driver, 7 soldiers)

top speed fwd/reverse: 56kph/36kph
ammunition load: (ready/stored) 300/600 25mm rounds, 800/1400 coax-rounds, 2/5 TOW2 missiles
gun movement range(degrees) -9 to 59 for the coax and maingun -19 to 29 for the TOW launcher

the ODS variant of the bradley is an improved M2A2, with rearranged infantry compartment,
and a laser range finder, as well as a thicker gunners hatch are the major differences.
several minor details include: the lugs for attaching fording
equipment has been removed, the drivers hatch has been modified,
troop hatch has received additional armouring, engine work platform has been removed,
and an armour plate on the right side of the turret has been modified.

the A2 variant of the bradley is more sensibly armoured than its predecessors, capable of resisting 25mm rounds over the frontal aspect
the bradley tow launcher is fairly limited in its operation
it can only be unstowed and fired on a halt, and the vehicle must remain halted while re-stowing it.
additionally, it should only be fired while on a slope less than 10 degrees. if the slope is larger, the flight computer of the missile cannot compensate.
there are 2 bubble levels, one on the TC's side, and one on the gunners side, to check the slope and roll of the vehicle.
various conditions will make the missile abort, among others: breaking the wire, changing magnification, being overriden by the TC, moving outside
the sight picture, and being aborted by the TC.
